Just Between Friends - Rosie Nixon
Just Between Friends by Rosie Nixon
Blurb
Aisha
Moore is eight months pregnant. She’s thrilled, and a little scared. Not least
because her husband Jason hasn’t quite wrapped his head around the fact.
Lucy
is having her first child too. She has finally got her wish – although the
circumstances aren’t quite what she had hoped. Oscar will be a great dad
though, won’t he?
When
the two women join the same baby group, they quickly become friends and before
long they’re confiding in each other.
Only
there’s one thing Lucy hasn’t told Aisha. And while a baby may turn your life
upside-down, a secret this big will change everything.
My Review
This
story is a complete merge of chic lit but with hints of thriller!
The writing is so compelling that you can’t help but just turn one more page!
The
characters Aisha, Lucy and the baby group are very intriguing, how the story
develops and is carefully crafted into you finding out that Lucy is keeping
something to herself and then what that is – is very clever. As I personally
felt like I had come to like Lucy and her story so I had built empathy towards
her – but no spoilers here!
What
I really loved about this book though was the diverse characters and the
different situations in the baby group to include all different types of
families, birth stories and how they each cope with a new born and all the
challenges it brings - which is so important to include and Rosie covers this
beautifully!
A page turning fiction to get stuck into this winter!
