Virgin River Series Book 1 by Robyn Carr
Virgin River series book 1 by Robyn
Carr
In celebration for Season 2
coming to Netflix on the 27th November I’m sharing my review of book
1!
Blurb
Wanted:
Midwife/nurse practitioner in Virgin River, population six hundred. Make a
difference against the backdrop of towering California redwoods and
crystal-clear rivers. Rent-free cabin included.
Melinda Monroe recently widowed
when she sees this advert spontaneously decides that Virgin River might just be
the perfect escape from grief, heartache but keeping her career which she
loves. Mel is quickly bought back to reality when the cabin is a state, the
roads are treacherous and the local doctor doesn’t want anything to do with
her. She is left wondering…..
Could Virgin River really be the
escape Mel is looking for?
My Review
I got completely lost in Virgin
River with Mel, Jack and the residents. It’s the perfect escapism. I did read
the book before watching the Netflix series, and my feelings haven’t changed I
love the series just as much as the book. Which is very rare I think because usually
you either love the book or series, so this shows my point that it works
because the characters and stories are so well developed.
Mel is a very likeable character,
and you can’t help but feel for her past and see how her future unfolds. I just
wanted the best for her.
Jack, oh don’t we all wish we had
a Jack in our lives? Again he has a past with being an ex-marine, but can they
help each other to move on?
You can’t help but want to know
what will happen to these characters even the residents!
I can’t wait to return to Virgin
River.
