Veronica doesn't have family or friends nearby. Not that she knows about, anyway . . . And she has no idea where she's going to leave her considerable wealth when she dies.

But today . . . today Veronica is going to make a decision that will change all of this.

My Review

So I just adored this warm but full of hope story! Veronica McCreedy and her eccentric ways completely stole my heart, I simply loved her.

I actually adopt a penguin through the WWF, so I know this story was going to be right up my street, with the adorable cover and intriguing blurb and it didn’t disappoint. Throughout the story it does include facts about penguins but also the environment too, this was done subtly but insightful and enough to make you think which is just one thing that I loved about this book.

Veronica McCreedy is a really special lady and when I finished the book I didn’t want to leave her behind. She is eccentric, made me laugh and made me cry, she may come across frosty to start with but you will fail not to love her by the end of her story. She is a determined character with a difficult past…. There will be no spoilers here you will just have to read to find out more!

It has also been selected for Richard and Judy’s book club, which is not surprising at all!

It is a wholesome read, perfect to cosy up with now the darker nights are here.
