Whitsborough Bay Series - book 1 - Making Wishes at Bay View by Jessica Redland

I got very excited when I realised that I hadn't yet read this series by one of my favourite authors Jessica Redland. (I know how rude of me!!)
I do love a series, knowing that I am going to get to really know these characters and settings.

So lets start at the beginning with Making Wishes at Bay View

Callie Derbyshire has it all: her dream job as a carer at Bay View, finally she has found the love of her life. Everything is perfect.

Well, almost.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.

This story is the perfect escapism, that I didn't realise how late it was last night when I finally turned off my kindle! ooops!
Callie is a really likeable character, and I want her to be my best friend. She just wants the best for everybody and for everyone to be happy, she has so many likeable traits. She loves her job and the residents of Bay View care home, with one special resident Ruby, who completely stole my heart. Ruby may just be one of my characters ever, she is cheeky, funny and has stories to tell. Together with Iris them pair really did make me laugh.
It is  warm and romantic read which I just love as I am such an old romantic but it does cover some difficult topics such as family dynamics, depression and the past which Jessica covers so beautifully.

These characters now feel like friends so I can not wait to return to Whitsborough Bay with the second in the series New Beginnings at Seaside Blooms.

  1. Yay! So thrilled you loved your trip to Bay View in Whitsborough Bay and that Ruby and Iris - the double act - stole your heart. I had such fun creating them. Looking forward to seeing what you make of the rest of the series. Thanks so much for choosing my stories, Katie x
